She's Arrived!

My sweet little Elsie Rose was born March 14, 2008 at 3:14 a.m. What a miracle! I haven't been able to take my hands off of her!
Tuesday the 12th we went back into the perinatologist which is who we originally saw due to being high risk and they were able to take us because they had seen me prior in the pregnancy. I originally didn't want to go to them because it was a large practice and you never know which doctor you were going to see. Being that I was over 40 weeks it didn't really matter! Our new Dr. had us go into the hospital the next day to break my water. I really liked the Dr. because she was very sweet and she was a woman! She started me on pitocin at 1 p.m. and broke my water at 3 p.m. I started contracting pretty good and I got my epidural around 6. At 9:00 my doctor had come in and told me that she was leaving and that there was another Dr. there that was going to take care of me. I thought, "AGAIN?" For crying out loud how many doctors am I going to go through to get this baby. Sure enough... the ULTIMATE answer to our prayers, Dr. Wilson. He is an OB that is amazing and covers for the perinatologist. Such an awesome and calm doctor. He used to be our home teacher a couple years ago and we were so relieved. He helped me have the delivery I always wanted and felt deserved. It was a long labor and I pushed for 2 hours but he understood what I wanted and helped me safely achieve it. I came close to having a c-section but I was able to push her out. I am so grateful for a good calm doctor and nurses. I know that the Lord was watching out for me and my daughter. I never knew why it was so impossible for me to go into labor. Castor oil worked the first time on both of my other girls and with Ava I was 5 days early. I had taken castor oil 5 times with this baby and it didn't do a thing. I finally found the answer we had been looking for! Elsie was waiting for a Dr. that gave her and I the best care and now I still have my uterus! I did have some bleeding after the delivery and I was on watch for a transfusion but they got it under control with medication and I didn't end up having any other surgeries to stop the bleeding. What a relief that it took so long to get the right doctor for my situation. I am so grateful for all of my family that helped us through it and were by our sides. She weighed 7 lbs 1 oz. 20.5 inches. I think there was a reason she was smaller! What an emotional night. We love her so much and are so grateful for a "normal" experience. She is such a sweet spirit and so worth the LONG wait!                          Jason and I after epidural! Happy!
                               She finally made it!
She had a 6 inch scratch on her head from the birth canal. OUCH!
Dr. Wilson and our sweet nurse! The answer to our prayers
                                 Our precious ANGEL!
Dad and Elsie 1 day old!
                            Mom and Elsie day 1.

She has her Dads big feet and hands! They look exactly the same in her ultrasound!
Proud sister Ava who thinks this is her new doll!
Biggest sister Emmie whos not so sure about Elsie sharing the same bed as her and mom!

First of all, I'm glad things went well. I've been nervous for you and I don't even know what happened with the first two. I kind of know what happend with Emmie. I'm glad everything worked out and she is so cute. I love the 2 pictures of her in the pink. Very cute.

Yes. Those were the comments that I keep getting and that's why I am going private (as soon as I figure out how to do it). Since I got the first one, I've gotten 2 more. It's getting frustrating. Don't click on any more of those. I hope it didn't do anything to your computer. If there are any comments that say click here, I delete them so no one else opens them either.

Congratulations! Enjoy her.
